Over 200 businesses demand freedom of choice for GMO in food

An additional 197 businesses in the German food industry have joined the initiative founded two weeks ago for the preservation of labelling and freedom of choice for genetically modified food. The addressee, Manfred Weber (CSU), rejected the company bosses' urgent request for dialogue before a vote in the European Parliament on 24 January 2024.

No GMO in seed samples in 2023 – future uncertain

Anuga 2023: Manufacturers and retailers call for the preservation of GMO labelling

GMO-free milk has become mainstream

Almost four out of every five litres of milk in Germany is produced GMO-free. In 2022, conventional "Ohne Gentechnik" [Non-GMO] (73.4 percent) and organic milk (4.3 percent) together accounted for almost 78 percent of the total milk volume in Germany.

Survey: Almost everyone wants labelling and risk assessment for new genetic engineering

92 percent of all Germans want new genetic engineering in food to be labelled at all times. As many as 96 percent endorse mandatory risk assessment for plants produced with CRISPR etc.
